Do you struggle to complete things on your to-do list? Do you roll-over what you haven’t completed today to tomorrow’s list? I haven’t met anyone who doesn’t struggle to complete tasks. It’s called a way of life. Completion is better than perfection! Sometimes it’s better to complete something and then go back to make modifications.  Keep in mind, procrastination can stunt your career and sometimes it can get your fired.

There are some Smart Solutions Strategies™ to guide you in completing tasks at hand to eliminate the feeling of being overwhelmed and under accomplished.

First Smart Solution: Complete what worries you most! What you don’t complete today will be staring you in the face tomorrow. Therefore, complete what’s nagging you. Procrastination creates worry and anxiety. Move those tasks which worry you out of the door.

Second Smart Solution: There will be days when you need to experience a sense of accomplishment. If you need to achieve something before the sun sets or rises, then reorganize it makes sense to complete something that your enjoy! There are days when you have to do what it takes to move forward. Remember, completion is sometimes is better than perfection!

Third Smart Solution: Alternate what you like to complete with what you don’t want to complete. Mixing up the mundane and boring with the invigorating may provide you with the necessary energy to push forward to complete everything on your to-do-list! If returning emails or phone calls seems rather daunting, but, updating your calendar is easier, then complete your easier task first.

Fourth Smart Solution: Adopt the attitude of getting it done! Don’t fool yourself into thinking you’ll do it tomorrow. Tomorrow may present other challenges.   Life is a full circle. What you put off today, you’ll be looking at you tomorrow. Face reality and do what needs to be done so you can inevitably do the things you love and want to do.

In Review: Complete the task which worries you the most to eliminate nagging feelings of incompletion. Complete a task that provides a sense of satisfaction so you feel energize to complete those things you really don’t want to do. And lastly, adopt the attitude of getting it done!
